The Dell Studio XPS 16 is aimed for people who want an entertainment laptop but do not want to spend too much; easily one of the best laptops in its category. It has a very personalized appearance; the laptop has a solid metal build, and there is some use of leather on the lid which gives it a nice subtle touch.

The display is a 16-inch screen, which means that this is more of a desktop replacement rather than something you would bring around everywhere.

It wasn't much of a problem until other laptop makes like Apple, HP and began offering better designs. Dell took the hint and introduced the XPS line of notebooks. The HDMI port allows one to watch high-quality video from the laptop to an HDTV. However, all this is hampered by the fact that the laptop can get a little hot and the fan inside the laptop did not do a very good job in cooling the laptop down.

Arguably one of the best laptops in the budget category, the Dell Studio XPS 16 is a solid entertainment laptop with a very stylish design. However, this isn't a laptop for the mobile warrior.

The 16-inch screen means that the laptop is a little big and the heat from the laptop may prove to be unusable for people who like to place their laptops on the lap.
